The Urbanism Week will finish with a symposium on Friday. The symposium will reflect on the topics which were addressed the previous days and key note speakers will lecture about the main theme of the week: Designing Lifestyles: influences of big players on future cities. The last lecture on Friday will elaborate on a Urbanism Alumni research which is executed by Dutch universities and academies. The day ends with a network drink and a book sale.

Young Wook Joung‐ Deputy Manager at Urban Development Division, Samsung C&T

Young Wook Joung is Deputy General Manager at the Urban Development Division of Samsung City and transport in Korea. Previously, he had been working as a researcher and PhD candidate in “The Why Factory” and worked at MVRDV.


Louis Bekker ‐ City Account Manager at Siemens, Nederland NV

Louis Bekker is City Account Manager at Siemens, Nederland NV. Bekker is responsible for the sustainable development in urban areas for ‘Siemens’ projects. Projects as the Sustainable Randstad, the Green City Index and the Smart Grid are among his interests. 


Henk Snoeken ‐ Directorate for National Spatial Planning

Henk Snoeken is working at the directorate for National Spatial planning since 2011. Since last year in the function of Acting Director. Before he had various management positions in University and Civil Service.


Simon Giles - Intelligent Cities Strategy Lead at Accenture

Simon Giles conomic Forum on its Slim City. He is also part of the International Herald Tribune Advisory Board for renewables.  


Dr Machiel van Dorst – Presentation Report: Beroepspraktijk
